Some Days…

There's some days, like today, when we wake up and the vibes are flowing like what? The Salmon of Capistrano of course (if you're new here, get used to 90's and early aught's movie quotes. They're featured heavily in my writing) The coffee tastes great, the gainz (gains only count if you say them with a z. I don't make the rules) feel extra gain-y at the gym (translation: I didn't pull any muscles or fall down), hair is on point until you throw a hat on to cover it, you catch a glimpse in the mirror from your good side as you high step out the door like Deion taking it the house.

Basically we feel like a million bucks, maybe humming our favorite Mase line "Can't nobody take my vibe, can't nobody slow me down... (probably steer clear of Puffy, he's trying to give R Kelly a run for Terribleist Muscian Ever) Get to the office, pull up on the job, whatever you do, and you're radiating the positivity. And then out of nowhere, like Mother Nature on a snow bender in March, shit goes sideways in epic fashion.

We feel like Neo in The Matrix battling Agent Smith but instead it's not Agent Smith we're fighting, it's Agent Bullshit and he's multiplying.

These days can really ding our spirit, crush our mindset and evaporate good vibes BUT only if we let them. Sometimes things get emotional, because remember anger is an emotion, and we need to step back and reset. Do it, excuse yourself from the battle with the Agents of Bullshit TM and remember how the day started as well as your preparation for days just like today. Even five minutes spent smashing our internal reset button can get us back in the groove, ready to resume the battle with ferocity. Think about doing this next time Agent BS is trying to foul up your day.

Two quick things I'm thinking about 1) We never really know people. I've learned this the hard way too many times and it messes with our ability to trust. We've got to work our asses off to not let this happen. Nothing good comes from it while never being surprised at what another person is capable of. Saves a ton of grief.

2. Check in time. How are you doing? 1/3 of the year has nearly passed. Where do you stand? A good place or a place for improvement? Honestly, I hope both. That's winning right there. Have an awesome Friday.
